Joining our interview series on this episode is Michael Ullmer AO - one of the Country's preeminent business figures, having been deeply entrenched within corporate Australia via a number of significant appointments that stretch throughout a period of in excess of thirty-years.
Michael's experience & leadership extends across a number of industries within which he's extensive strategic, financial and management expertise has been highly sought-after at both Board and executive level.
He is currently Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of Lendlease Corporation, a globally integrated real estate and investment group with a market capitalisation of over seven billion dollars and thirteen thousand employee's Worldwide that has delivered landmark projects across the Globe for over five decades.
Having joined the Board in late 2011, Michael became Chairman of the business in November 2018 and has overseen the group's growth & operations across four regions including Australia, Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Until recently, he was also a Non Executive Director of Woolworths Group, one of Australia's largest retailers with domain expertise built across key brands including Woolworths supermarkets & discount department store, Big W – a position he held for over nine years.
Michael also has a revered history across the financial services sector, having spent oven seven years at National Australia Bank including as Deputy Group CEO, seven years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as Group CFO & head of the Institutional & Business Banking division.
He has also held a number of other corporate positions including as a Director of Fosters Limited (four years), Partner of Coopers & Lybrand (five years) and a Partner of KPMG for a period of ten years.
Other significant appointments include as a Member of the European Australian Business Council (ongoing), Chairman of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (fourteen years) & Trustee of the National Gallery of Victoria (nine years) to name a few.
