Get to know some of the big residential developments in construction

VICTORIA

MIRAMAR – GEELONG

Developer Morris Property Group has teamed up with Watson Young Architects to develop this 21-storey residential tower, with views overlooking Corio Bay in Geelong. Once complete, Miramar will be Geelong’s tallest building.

Amenities include a private residents’ lounge at podium level; a commercial grade gymnasium complete with a suite of cardio machines and free weights; a residents’ courtyard on Level 4 surrounded by seasonal landscaping and complete with a covered barbecue area and bay views.

Construction commenced at 18-20 Cavendish St in April 2018.

 

THE PARK HOUSE – ABBOTSFORD

Developer Salta Properties has joined Architects SJB in this mid-rise, multi-faceted residential development. Boasting riverbank frontage and desirable location, The Park House offers one, two and three bedroom units with plenty of amenities and lifestyle benefits.

The development will offer a residential lounge and library, as well as a pool, sauna and gym. Residents will also have access to a private theatre, bike workshop and a golf simulation room.

Construction began on 627 Victoria Street, Abbotsford, in late 2017 and is expected to be completed by October 2019.

 

WINDSOR & CO. – PRESTON

Caydon Property Developers are behind this boutique development on High St in Preston, which is set to offer affordable boutique living in close proximity to the city.

The building’s unique curved architecture presents two inviting foyers, located in both entrances, and a thoughtfully landscaped common area located on the first floor. The garden is designed with strategically placed pods, comfortable seating, tables and BBQ’s.

Construction is set to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.

 

QUEENSLAND

QUBE – BROADBEACH

A joint development from Morris Property Group and Amalgamated Property Group, QUBE will consist of two and three bedroom units atop ground floor retail space. DBI Design are responsible for the design; DBI were also responsible for the Jewel Residences in Surfers Paradise.

With views over Broadbeach, the fourth podium level offers just under half an acre of gardens, tall trees and amenities. Residents have available a fully-equipped gymnasium, a landscaped terrace, an outdoor spa, poolside cabanas, a sunset terrace as well as a pizza oven and BBQ facilities.

Construction commenced in 2016 with project completion expectations to be mid-way into 2018.

 

SPIRIT – SURFERS PARADISE

Soon to be Queensland’s tallest residential tower, Spirit is the work of Chinese-backed developer Forise Holdings. The tower itself will be almost 300m tall, offering a 1,800sqm penthouse (said to cost $38.8 million) and three levels of ground floor retail. $44 million is said to be put towards underground works alone – this is a develop of big proportions.

Construction began on 3 Trickett Street in 2017 and is expected to be completed by 2019.

 

THE ONE – BRISBANE

Property developer, Shayher Group, along with Zenx Architects and Multiplex builders have joined to present The One at 300 George St Brisbane. Once completed, The One will become Brisbane’s second tallest building.

The One is tower-one of the integrated development known as Brisbane Quarter. Tower-two will be Australia’s first purpose-built W Hotel, while tower-three, 300 George, will offer two levels of riverside dinning and luxury retail shopping beneath a 40-storey state-of-the-art Prime Grade office tower.

Construction began in 2015 and is expected to be completed next year.

 

NEW SOUTH WALES

THE LENNOX – PARRAMATTA

EQ Projects have teamed up with Marchese Partners Architecture Firm for this riverfront project set to be a statement on the Parramatta landscape. There will be 25 different dwelling offerings, with a mix of studio, one, two, three and four bedroom residences, varying in size from 40 to 206sqm internally. Prices range from $495,000 to more than $3.5 million.

The residents will have a 24-hour concierge and a state-of-the-art German-designed automated parking system. A 1,200sqm residents-only space on level three will feature a 20m indoor pool with indoor-outdoor terrace and riverfront views, a gym opening out onto a garden with separate wellbeing space, a terrace with green spaces, barbecues and a sculptural garden, and a lounge area.

Construction has commenced and completion is expected in early 2021.

 

BLUE AT LAVENDER BAY – MILSONS POINT

At 61 Lavender St in Milsons Point this boutique development is the work of Aqualand and PTW Architects. The building will comprise of studios, one, two and three-bedroom dwellings, with over 80 per cent of apartments providing panoramic views to the Harbour Bridge.

Prices for the one-bedroom apartments start from $950,000. The residences will include premium Gaggenau appliances, natural stone kitchens, stone floors, extensive joinery, larger open-plan living areas and generous sized bedrooms and ensuites.

Construction has commenced and completion is expected in early 2021.

 

CASTLE RESIDENCES – SYDNEY

Shanghai United property developers have commenced work with architects Candalepas Associates for this high-end, CBD centric project. Upon release in mid-2017, the developer sold 50% of the apartments including an $18 million penthouse.

The penthouse is located at the highest point of the residential tower (floors 33, 34, 35) with private lifts, swimming pool, an indoor garden and three outdoor gardens. Technology includes a fingerprint locking system with an advanced security intelligent system.

Part of the $380 million project is a five-star, 121-room M Gallery by Sofitel hotel. Apartment residents will be able to take advantage of in-room hotel catering and deluxe spa treatments, as well as access to the hotel’s concierge who will be on hand to help with restaurant, theatre and taxi bookings. Residents will also have access to the hotel’s gym, pool and business centre, and will be able to make general service bookings for couriers, dry cleaning, laundry and valet parking services as if they were hotel guests. 

Construction commenced this year with expected completion in 2020.
