Colliers International was founded in 1976 in Australia, when three well-established professional real estate services businesses in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide agreed to join forces. The founders called the newly formed firm "Colliers" in honour of the founders' esteemed mentor, Ronald Collier, who pushed those who worked for him to address everyday difficulties with a creative mindset. In less than 40 years, it has grown from a small local business to a leading publicly listed worldwide real estate services and investment management firm.
